The attention of the people of Isheri Osun has been drawn to a publication in a national daily on 30 October entitled: Fashola Save Us At Isheri-Osun.
According to the elders: “The people of Isheri-Osun feel deeply incensed by the information and what the article portends. We like to state emphatically and equivocally that Isheri-Osun is peaceful as we have been enjoying the peace of God.
“We also want to state that High Chief Ramoni Inufele Musendiku did not write, past or publish any letter dated 14 October, 2009. The letter, according to a community chief, emanated from the Lagos State Ministry of Chieftaincy Affairs, Alausa, Ikeja, and the government is looking into the matter to find out why it was published. Besides, the case is also in court and as such all parties should maintain the status quo.
“High Chief Musendiku has at no time paraded himself as the Oba-elect of Isheri-Osun, even though he was dully nominated by the Komba Ruling House and enjoys the support of the town’s elders and the entire community that forwarded his name to the Igando/Ikotun LCDA and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
“There was never a time that Shamsideen Amoo Mojeed’s name was forwarded as a candidate to the Baale’s stool of Isheri-Osun as claimed by Mojeed and his cohorts, Shitta Gbelay and others as contained in the Daily Sun of 30 October, 2009.
According to Chief Babatunde Ayinde, the Eletu of Isheri Osun, Alhaji Mojeed has been parading himself as the Oba-elect of the town in the media like P.M.NEWS, Radio Nigeria, Band F.M. and many others.
He said, no Isheri Osun Chief has received any threat from Chief Musendiku as claimed by his detractors, and that he does not enjoy any backing from governor Fashola or Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Eletu of Isheri Osun therefore described as mischievous, vexatious, misleading, speculative and unfounded, the information published in the said Daily Sun newspaper. He said Isheri Osun is peaceful and any threat to peace shall be dealt with.
